1st Signs of Pregnancy

There are several early signs of pregnancy, which delight parents-to-be with increasing hope, before the final joyful confirmation of the new life growing within the mother. Different women have different reactions, but generally, there are ten factors, each of which is considered an early symptom.

The First Signs Of A New Life

A missed period is the most common early sign of pregnancy, although this can also be due to other reasons like stress, medication or illness as well. Some women have faint spotting and minor cramps soon after implantation of the sperm in the wall of the uterus. This is nothing like a normal period; bleeding is much lighter.

Due to the hormonal changes within the body, women that are pregnant may feel like sleeping all day at the very beginning of pregnancy.

However, the body will get used to the changes in hormone and get back to normal after some time.

Morning Sickness

This is one of the most well known first signs of pregnancy. It is also caused by the hormone change that occurs in the pregnant body.

The symptoms are that you feel like to throw up. It is called morning sickness because nausea is the worst when you get up in the morning.

After a month or so, this sign will be normalized when the body is getting used to the conception.

Another first symptom of pregnancy almost every woman reports having early in their pregnancy is breast tenderness. The tenderness can vary from extreme to mild. Some women report that even a slight breeze would cause them pain, while others say they experienced light tenderness. Many women experience breast tenderness before their period begins, however, so this may not always be a sign of pregnancy.

Any unusual prolonged pain especially in the back area can be your body’s signal that you’re expecting. Believe it or not backaches are a normal occurrence when a woman is with child. There is slight tension being forced on the spine due to the growth of the unborn baby.

Pregnancy is a lovely journey and to ensure it is enjoyable and fruitful, it must begin perfectly. As a mother-to-be, it’s your responsibility and privilege to notice the first sign of pregnancy. Never ignore it and get all the advice and care you require for a safe and beautiful journey ahead.

Pregnancies are dated from the first day of your last period so you are already four weeks pregnant when your period is due. Your baby who is actually about two weeks old (counting from conception) is a tiny tadpole like embryo which is even smaller than a grain of rice. Although far from being human looking your baby has a head, a rudimentary brain and a primitive heart that has begun to pump.

Home pregnancy test

A home pregnancy test measures how much of the pregnancy hormone hCG is present in your urine. hCG can usually be detected by a home pregnancy test as early as the day of your missed period and they are easily available online and from your local chemist or supermarket.
