Think you may need to do a home pregnancy test? Pregnancy can be a life changing event. Here are some of the early signs of pregnancy to help you decide if it’s time for that all important test:

One of the commonest early signs of pregnancy is a missed period. The confusion sets in because a missed period can also be due to stress, illness, and fluctuations in weight. Cessation of oral contraceptives, and a polycystic ovary syndrome also lead to a missed period.

Often, your family will notice that you are irritable or moody before you even begin to suspect that you’re pregnant. Hormonal surges during the early stages of pregnancy can cause mood swings worse than those from PMS. You might also feel tired, another of the early signs of pregnancy, but fatigue can be a sign of may other conditions as well.

Nausea and vomiting

This is the commonest indication of pregnancy. This condition, popularly referred to as ‘morning sickness’, can strike at any time of the day at all. You may suddenly start feeling extremely sick for an inexplicable reason. While some women experience only nausea, others actually suffer from actual bouts of vomiting, thereby upsetting their whole system, initially. Some pregnant women suffer from morning sickness only for a little while, some experience none at all. Generally, these symptoms disappear when you enter the second trimester, that is, from the fourth month of your pregnancy.

Breast tenderness is also one of the early signs of pregnancy. A newly pregnant body will begin to ready itself for motherhood almost immediately. The breasts will begin to change and grow as they prepare for milk production. However, breast tenderness can also be a sign of impending menstruation as well as a number of other conditions.

The most obvious sign of pregnancy for a woman must be the food craving; it can last all over the pregnancy stage. Pregnant women crave or desire even the strangest food anyone can think of. Women should be aware of her body especially if she had planned of expected her pregnancy. They should be responsible for their child; pregnancy is also a risk magnet so every mother should be careful of themselves.

It is not necessary that you experience all the early signs of pregnancy but you tend to experience a few of them. Some women have even reported of experiencing no symptoms at all.
