Although a lot of women experience pregnancy symptoms, and find signs of being pregnant, other’s don’t “feel” pregnant. Certain signs and symptoms of being pregnant can be confused with other illnesses. The following list are some telltale symptoms of pregnancy. Morning sickness is one of the most common signs of being pregnant, but you also might be one of the lucky ones who never experience this pregnancy symptom. Missing a period is another sign and symptom of being pregnant. We’ll go into greater detail below, and you can read below. However, this is very early in the stages of pregnancy that the woman will not realize that she is pregnant, unless she decides to take a pregnancy test when she feels that her flow is too light. Otherwise, she will not find out about her pregnancy until a few more weeks when she realizes that she has missed her period.
Getting nauseous. This of course is the classic “tell tale” sign. As previously mentioned, this can be confused quite easily with the any other type of sickness.
Breast Tenderness. This is another classic sign and a very good indicator that you are pregnant. There are other reasons why you may have breast tenderness but more than likely it has something to do with a positive sign of being pregnant.
When you’re pregnant, you could experience extreme tiredness or fatigue. This can keep you in bed, as you’re often sleepy or just don’t want to get out of bed. This is normal for an expecting woman.
And if that’s not hard enough, another symptom of pregnancy is the frequent urination. You may feel like you just want to sit near the bathroom all day, or that your bladder just can’t hold it in any longer. Pregnant women have to put up with this and make extra trips to the bathroom every day.
Vaginal Spotting: In 2nd or 3rd trimester the vaginal spotting is alarming. However light spotting in the earliest days of pregnancy is normal and signals pregnancy. Generally the color of this spotting is light brown or pink.
While you may or may not notice any of the above signs of being pregnant, the easiest way to confirm a pregnancy is to take a pregnancy test. There are many different ones available and they work by measuring a specific pregnancy hormone called hCG, human chorionic gonadotrophin. Early home pregnancy tests are more sensitive than others and can detect very low levels of hCG. They can also give a positive reading before a missed period.
